Three charged with using altered gift cards

Three Chicago women have been arrested on charges that they tried to use altered gift cards to make purchases at a Wal-Mart near Glen Ellyn.

Rashonda Frazier, 23, Nateia Hill, 21, and Tiffany Jones, 27, were each charged with possession of an altered credit card after DuPage County sheriff's office detectives investigated the incident late Wednesday afternoon at the store near Butterfield Road and Route 53.

Authorities say the three suspects tried to use altered gift cards that are linked to an unknown victim's credit accounts.

Frazier also was charged with obstructing identification and unlawful use of a stun gun.

Frazier and Jones both are being held on $20,000 bail and Hill is being held on $10,000 bail.
