DuPage CVB nets top honors from trade magazine

OAK BROOK - The DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau has been chosen as "Best Convention and Visitors Bureau - Outside Chicagoland" by the readers of Illinois Meetings + Events (IL M+E) magazine.

"This is especially gratifying, because we were chosen by meeting and event planners who read the publication," said DuPage CVB Director of Marketing and Operations Nanette Traetow. "It's a tribute to our entire staff, but particularly our sales team, since they are the face of our bureau to the planners."

Executive Director Beth Marchetti added with the number of bureaus throughout the state, "it's very special to be singled out by the readers of such a well-regarded publication as Illinois Meetings + Events.

"We are very honored," Marchetti said.

Several DuPage CVB member businesses were also finalist for "Best of" awards, including Arrowhead Golf Club, Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center, The Morton Arboretum, and Westin Lombard Yorktown Center. Eaglewood Resort & Spa won for "Best Golf Club," and Windy City Limousine won for "Best Transportation" for the seventh year in a row.

"All 25 winners of this year's awards represent the best and the brightest of the meetings and events industry in Illinois," according to the magazine's editor, Selena Fragassi. "They work hard for your business and aim to impress, and when all is said and done, they relish in your shared success."

The award was presented at IL M+E's Tenth Annual "Best Of" Awards party, held recently at Pinstripes Chicago.
