Woodland student art display

The Grayslake Post Office will display 12 pieces of Woodland Elementary West student artwork, beginning Friday, May 29. The weeklong display will be part of an official ceremony that will begin at 11:30 a.m., at the post office, 75 Commerce Drive, Grayslake. The ceremony will begin with the unveiling of the new Martin Ramirez Forever Stamps. Students will also receive a tour of the post office after the dedication. The display is part of the district's "Art in the Community" program that was a collaborative project among the Woodland's art teachers. The program embraces partnerships within the community while acknowledging that fine arts, visual, musical and dramatic are essential elements of a child's elementary education. The program showcases the children's talents and brings their artwork into local businesses and agencies that include Warren-Newport Library, Village of Gurnee and Sunrise Senior Center.
