Grant's Wells wins national title in hurdles

Former Grant track star Sean Wells sped to another national championship Saturday.

This time it was outdoors.

The Grand Valley State University junior captured the 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division II outdoor track and field national championships in Allendale, Mich.

Wells ran a winning time of 13.68 to edge West Texas A & M's Lorenzo Johnson (13.69).

Wells won the Division II indoor 60-meter high hurdles championship in March.

He became the first male sprinter/hurdler in school history to win two national titles in one calendar year.
