Cancellation ends up in one-man Arlington Heights Memorial Day parade

One man put on what might have been a symbolic protest to the decision to cancel Arlington Heights' Memorial Day parade three days in advance because of fears of inclement weather.
Apparently marching the entire route by himself, the man in his late 60s or early 70s carried the Stars and Stripes and a "Don't Tread on Me" flag, according to witness Jason Reese of Arlington Heights.
Reese spotted the man at two different points along the downtown route and photographed him the second time he saw him.
Reese thought it a safe bet that the man was a veteran himself.
"He seemed to be marching very patriotically," Reese said.
