Mundelein rally past Lakes

Jake Langlie slammed 13 kills, served 11 of 11 and posted 12 digs, as Mundelein's boys volleyball team rallied to defeat No. 14 Lakes 22-25, 25-18, 25-14 in a play-in match of the Vernon Hills regional Saturday.

Freshman middle blocker Trevon Jackson added 6 blocks and 5 kills for No. 17 Mundelein, which will play No. 2 Hersey in the regional semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Mustangs also received 4 kills and 4 blocks from Roman Tkachuk. Freshman Abram Nazario and Blake Graham had 17 and 16 digs, respectively, and Anthnoy Fiore dished out 21 assists on 81-of-82 setting.

"The team played very well," Mundelein coach Geroge Dressen Jr. said. "This win really came from teamwork."

Carmel d. Antioch: At Vernon Hills, the 10th-seeded Corsairs won 25-14, 25-16 in a regional play-in.

Carmel will face No. 7 Vernon Hills in Tuesday's 6:30 p.m. regional semifinals.

Fremd d. Grant: At Wheeling, the 13th-seed Vikings ousted the 20th-seeded Bulldogs 25-23, 25-11.

Fremd next plays No. 4 Zion-Benton in the regional semifnals at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
