Two national sports events coming to DuPage County

The DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced that the 2015 U.S. Boomerang Association National Championships and Exposition is coming to DuPage County in September and the National Traveling Bowling League's 72nd annual Convention and Tournament will be here in 2017.

This will be the first U.S. Boomerang Association event in DuPage County. The tournament will run Sept. 11 to 13 at Cornerstone Lake Park in West Chicago.

The National Traveling Bowling League tournament will be June 21-25, 2017, at Stardust Bowl in Addison, bringing more than 500 bowlers to the area.

"The DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau is excited to be hosting these tournaments," Executive Director Beth Marchetti said. "On behalf of the hospitality industry here in DuPage County, we look forward to welcoming the players and their supporters to Chicago's western suburbs."

DuPage County has a long history of successfully hosting sporting events of all sizes. This summer, the county also will host the USBC Youth Open Championships and North Pointe Junior Gold Championships bowling tournaments July 9 to 26. This tournament will bring in roughly 3,500 athletes.
