Sign up now for 46th annual Swedish Days Ride

The Fox Valley Bicycle and Ski Cub will host its 46th annual Swedish Days Ride on Sunday, June 28, in Burlington. The ride starts and ends at Burlington Central High School, 44W625 Plato Road, 1 mile west of Route 47.

All routes travel quiet and scenic paved roads of rural Kane County. The terrain is mostly flat, with the occasional hill. Along the way, enjoy frequent rest stops stocked with beverages and food, including various selections of fruits, breads, and homemade cookies.

Check-in begins at 6 a.m. and ends at 9:30 a.m. All riders must wear a wristband.

The routes include 27 miles with one rest stop, 45 miles with 2 rest stops, 62 and 80 miles with three rest stops, 100 miles with four and 124 miles with five. The 100- and 124-mile riders must be on the road by 8 a.m.

To register online, visit active.com by midnight June 23. Mailed-in registration must be postmarked by Friday, June 7. Download the application form at fvbsc.org. There is a discount for advance registration through June 7 of $20 or $38 for a family of two adults and children under 16.

Day-of registration or online starting June 8 is $28 or $48 for a family.

After the ride, cold watermelon and ice cream are served at the end of the ride; limited to the first 700 riders. A massage therapist will also be available.

The club offers rides multiple times a week throughout the Fox Valley area and beyond, for all levels of cyclists. Nonmembers are welcome to join. For information, visit fvbsc.org.
