Softball: Fox Valley roundup Friday, May 22

Huntley 5, CL South 2: Under the lights at Bandits Stadium in Rosemont, Huntley scored all of its runs in the fifth inning to beat the Gators in a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division game. Megan Larson had 2 hits and an RBI for the Red Raiders (21-7, 6-4). Tiffany Giese picked up the win, striking out 5 with no walks and allowing 6 hits. Taylor Kassel had a double for Crystal Lake South (18-10, 3-7) and Hailee Massie was the losing pitcher despite allowing just 1 earned run.

Geneva 7, Elgin 1: Jemiyah Stewart and Cassidy Sell were each 3-for-3 for the Maroons (3-28, 2-20) in this Upstate Eight River loss. Jessica Rago was the losing pitcher.

St. Charles East 10, Larkin 0: Sarah Hansen shut out SCE on 4 hits through 4 innings but then the UEC River champs broke out the bats and ran away with the win. Haley Bohne and Danielle Newquist had the only hits of the game for Larkin (6-24, 5-16).

Batavia 11, Streamwood 1: Losing pitcher Jessica Daley had a triple and Cayla Hawkins added a double for the Sabres (8-22, 5-17) in the UEC River.
