Cougars blanked by Timber Rattlers

Cy Sneed pitched a shutout as the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers blanked the Kane County Cougars 4-0 on Friday night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva.

Sneed and Cougars starter Touki Toussaint had dueling shutouts through the first 6 innings. The Cougars right-hander allowed only 2 hits for his first quality start in his second start this season.

Sneed never allowed a runner to reach second base as he worked 8 innings and tied a season high with 6 strikeouts.

The Timber Rattlers scored a pair in the seventh inning against reliever Jeferson Mejia (0-2).

The four-game series continues today at 6:30 p.m. when the Cougars send Ethan Elias (4-1, 1.53 ERA) against Kodi Medeiros (1-2, 5.35).
