Low Vision Products Road Show comes to Geneva June 3

The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired presents Low Vision Products Road Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Greenfields of Geneva, 0N801 Friendship Way in Geneva. Admission is free.

The public is invited to see state-of-the-art technology such as closed circuit TVs, portable reading devices, and more, including independent living aids, lighting, and even sunwear.

Test each product and receive training from the expert staff who can advise on the right tools to improve your daily life.

Chicago Lighthouse staff will demonstrate, explain and let you try the variety of products available for help with school, work and daily life. For "Independent Living," there are talking clocks and watches, kitchen items, large button phones, and sunglasses of all types including the new fit-over models. In computer aids, there will be large-print keyboards, accessibility software for magnification or speech, new speech to text dictation programs. There also will be reading devices, such as the new Prodigi from Humanware that magnifies and even reads text aloud, and portable and hand-held video magnifiers, from 2x to 20x, to read and write anywhere.
