Softball: Fox Valley roundup Thursday, May 21

Huntley 21, Woodstock 0: Winning pitcher Tiffany Giese threw a 1-hitter and went 4-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI as the Red Raiders (20-7) rolled to an easy Fox Valley Conference crossover win. Haley Spannraft (3-for-5, 3 doubles, 4 RBI), Megan Baczewski (2-for-5, HR, 2 RBI), Jessica Knutsen (2B, RBI), Hayley O'Mara (3-for-3, 2 doubles, 4 RBI) and Megan Larson (2-for-2, 3 RBI) also contributed.

Hampshire 12, Jacobs 6: Aly Snider and Peyton DeChant each had 4 hits and Jordyn Nelson hit a home run with 3 RBI as the Whip-Purs (12-16) won this FVC crossover. Nelson was also the winning pitcher. Losing pitcher Alexis Addante had a triple for the Golden Eagles (14-18) while Taylor Belo added 2 doubles and Kerri Healy had 1.

Dundee-Crown 16, Woodstock North 4: Andrea Conway went 4-for-4 with 3 doubles and 5 RBI to lead the Chargers (14-10) to an FVC crossover win. Deanna Origer and Rachel Chlopek each had 3 RBI for D-C and Kayla Sjodin was the winning pitcher.

CL South 6, Grayslake North 5: Brittany Baker had 3 hits, Brook Maddox had 2 hits with a triple, while Carly Chovanec (2B), Jenica Terry (2B), winning pitcher Sam Burgard and Hailee Massie each added 2 hits to lead the Gators (18-9) to an FVC crossover win.

Grayslake Central 7, Cary-Grove 4: In another FVC crossover, Sarah Purpura had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI for Cary-Grove (10-18). Caitlyn Adams was the losing pitcher.

Rock Falls 4, Burlington Central 3: Jill Neisendorf had 2 hits for BC (16-16) in this Big Northern crossover loss. Ashley Ratliff took the loss in the circle.
