Camp Brisket comes to the 'burbs

So you missed Camp Brisket in Texas? Instead of crying over your dried out beef, head to Schaumburg. For the first time, Weber Grill Restaurant is offering its own version of Camp Brisket and it's sure to be a barbecue lover's dream.

Over two days, campers will learn brisket selection and grading; how to set up your pit or smoker for brisket excellence; fuel types and wood types; top barbecue accessories to use and knife selection. You'll also tackle the debate over foil wrapped vs. unwrapped meat.

The class costs $299 a person and runs 6 to 10:30 p.m. June 12 and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 13. The price covers a brisket taste test, lectures, panel discussions, brisket talks and activities, as well as dinner, continental breakfast, lunch and much more. Register at webergrillrestaurant.com

While you're online, check out other summer grilling classes at the Schaumburg location, 1010 N. Meacham Road, and at the Lombard restaurant, 2331 Fountain Square.
