Get wacky this summer with the Schaumburg Park District

Children ages 6 to 12 will get crazy this summer with the Schaumburg Park District's free Wacky Wagon Camp by swimming, playing, getting messy and adventuring on field trips.

Wacky Wagon Camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 15 to July 30 and meets at:

• Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane

• Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road

• Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way.

Daily camp activities include games, crafts and swimming. Children must pass a basic swim test before swimming.

"The campers always are engaged in fun outdoor activities or on one of the exciting field trips," said Pam Gauper, party coordinator.

Thursday activities consist of various adventures and excursions. Thursday Expeditions include picnics at the Community Recreation Center and field trips to the Chicago Bulls and White Sox Academy, Spring Valley, Xtreme Trampoline, Mount Prospect Park District and Atcher Island. Pre-registration is required. Children must attend camp at least two days prior to participate in field trips. Transportation is included.

Fantastic Fridays take place each week at a different Park District site. Children must attend camp at least two days prior to participate in Fantastic Fridays.

A complete calendar of activities is available at each site on the first day of camp and at www.parkfun.com.
