CRESTWOOD - The Schaumburg Boomers dropped a wild back-and-forth 8-6 decision to the Windy City ThunderBolts on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game series.

The Boomers rallied from three deficits to lead 6-5 in the bottom of the ninth.

Boomers highlights included Tillman Pugh's second homer of the season, Mike Schulze's RBI double and 2-run single, Mark Nelson's sacrifice fly, Justin Vasquez's RBI infield single and Alexi Colon's 2 hits. But Zach Esquerra hit a walk-off 3-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning off Dexter Price for the victory.

The Boomers' Brett Mabry worked 5 innings in his first professional start, striking out six.
