Gavin Central first and second grade students present the 'Wizard of Oz'

First- and second-grade students from Gavin Central School performed "The Wizard of Oz" for fellow students Tuesday.

"The play is wonderful. The first- and second-graders have memorized all their lines and worked very hard," director Eileen Tucker said.

The production was put on by 21 cast members from the Gavin Central Drama Club, who dressed in elaborate and colorful costumes.

"It's really fun," said second-grader Madeline Hurley, who plays the part of Dorothy. "I like dressing up nice and I got a lot of parts."

The play was presented for parents and family members Tuesday night.
