Learn to fly kites in Crystal Lake

The Crystal Lake Park District, along with Chicago Kite, will present the Family Kite Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 24, rain or shine, at Lippold Park soccer field, Route 176, just west of Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

This free event is a perfect way for families to enjoy Memorial Day weekend. Kite fest includes performances by Team Chicago Kite, candy drop, raffle drawings, family kite fly time, single-line kite flying, and the first 350 children will receive a free kite and a learn-to-fly lesson.

Keep your eyes to the skies as there will be more than 100 kites of all sizes flying, some as large as 90 feet will be soaring for all to see.

Chicago Kite will be on hand for all your kiting needs.
