Baseball: Fox Valley roundup Monday, May 18

Stevie Kruger delivered a walk-off single with the bases loaded to lift Jacobs past Fox Valley Conference Valley Division champion Cary-Grove 4-3 in Algonquin Monday. The loss snapped Cary-Grove's 13-game winning streak.

Mike Addante doubled to open the bottom of the seventh inning for Jacobs (23-8, 12-4), and he advanced to third on Casey Dennison's sacrifice bunt. Cary-Grove (21-7-2, 14-2) countered by issuing consecutive intentional walks to Nate Meland and Ryan Sargent to set up the force at any base, but Kruger made it a mute point when he singled in the winning run after fouling off four straight 2-2 pitches.
