214@100: Elk Grove High School supports 'Soles4Souls'

Lines of people with bags and bags of shoes entered the Elk Grove High School gymnasium one winter night to help Madeline Siebert, class of 2014, achieve her goal. Siebert was collecting shoes for the nonprofit group Soles4Souls, with a mission of sending shoes all over the world.

By donating shoes, people earned the chance to throw a free throw at halftime. In the end, Siebert collected 1,595 pairs of shoes, just shy of her goal.

"If you feel strongly about something, do something to make a difference and be confident in what you believe," said Siebert.
