• Mary A. Williams, 64, of the 0-99 block of Hathaway Crescent, Sugar Grove, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or greater, no insurance and driving in the wrong lane at 2:51 p.m. Friday after crashing into construction equipment and a street sweeper on Bliss Road, south of Seavey Road, in Blackberry Township, according to a sheriff report. Williams also threw a bag out of her window, which was later recovered, and found to be containing two vodka bottles and cigarettes, the report said.

• About $2,000 was reported stolen at 12:43 p.m. Friday from a bedroom of a residence on the 0-99 block of Farnsworth Road near Aurora, according to a sheriff report.

• Miguel A. Hernandez, 25, of the 1400 block of West Jericho Circle, Aurora, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing identification at 12:07 a.m. Sunday after police responded to a motorist needing assistance at Binder Street and Hill Avenue near Aurora. Hernandez gave police a fake name and swung a backpack containing a large bottle of liquor into a deputy, hitting him in the pelvic region and leg, according to a sheriff report. Hernandez ran and officers used a stun gun on him and then arrested him, the report said.
