Heart surgery milestone
Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan recently reached a milestone - its 500th open heart surgery procedure. The case was completed by Dr. Lambros Tsonis, Vista's program director for open heart surgery and a cardiothoracic surgeon with Cardiac Surgery Associates in Gurnee. Vista East is part of the Vista Health System which includes two hospitals in Waukegan, a campus in Lindenhurst that includes ambulatory care, surgery and a free-standing emergency center and several imaging, therapy and physician office locations.
