Softball: Lake County roundup

Antioch's softball team settled for a split of its two games in Ridgewood's tournament Saturday.

Despite Ashley Stephens' grand slam in a five-run third, the Sequoits lost 7-5 to Montini, which scored 3 runs in the top of the seventh. Stephens finished 2-for-3, while Hannah Skoog was 2-for-4.

Antioch fared much better against Ridgewood, winning 13-0 in six innings. Jaclyn Geraty was 2-for-3 with a solo home run and 2 RBI, and Jill Foote went 3-for-4 with a two-run single.

Also contributing 2 hits apiece for Antioch were Skoog, Jessica Pedersen, Stephens, Jessica Tyrell and Amanda Costain. Pedersen and Jill Everett had doubles.

Stephanie Bonaguidi pitched all 6 innings for the Sequoits, allowing just 1 hit.

Lincoln-Way North 3, Grayslake Central 1: At The Ballpark in Rosemont, the Rams mustered just 4 hits under the lights.

Teagan Truskowski, Juliana Frusolone, Maddie Marshall and Emma Eiserman each singled for the Rams.

Lakes 9, Grayslake North 5: The Eagles scored 4 runs in the top of the seventh to snap a 5-5 tie in the nonconference game.

Lakes pitcher Ally Perdue aided her own cause by going 3-for-4 with an RBI. She also went the distance in the circle, allowing 2 earned runs while striking out eight.

Lakes got 2-hit games from Molly Dietz, Cassidy Schaar and Ashley Horner. Horner and Rachel Becker doubled.

Katie Moats was 3-for-4 for Grayslake North. Jenna Pozezinski was 2-for-4 with a double, 2 RBI and run scored. Jenny Moore and Rebecca Sosa also doubled.

Marist 5, Carmel 4: The Corsairs got doubles from Jenny Behan and Dani DeLozier.
