A-May-Zing Mundelein turns 20

The Village of Mundelein and the Mundelein Police Department held their A-May-Zing Mundelein's Annual Day of Caring on Saturday. The volunteer spring clean-up event is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The day started with a continental breakfast at the police station with workers fanning out into the community, working through early afternoon. Services provided included yard work, window washing, home safety inspections and small outdoor repairs.

Some of the larger teams included congressman Bob Dold, Girls on the Run, Kirk of the Lakes, Latino Police Academy, Mundelein Business Alliance, New Hope Christian Fellowship and Walgreens.

Several area businesses donated supplies to help complete the projects and provided food and refreshments for the volunteers.
