ECC holds student graduation Saturday

Elgin Community College handed out approximately 200 diplomas for its first 2015 commencement ceremony on Saturday morning. The ceremony included university transfer degrees in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Fine Arts-Visual art emphasis, Associate in Fine Arts-Music performance emphasis, Associate in Engineering Science and Associate in Liberal Studies.

A ceremony for career and technical programs, including Associate of Applied Science degrees, Vocational Specialist certificates and Basic Vocational Specialist certificates, was held in the afternoon.

Student speakers were LaShaunda Jordan of Elgin for the transfer degree ceremony and Justin Kelly of Elgin for the career and technical program ceremony. The commencement address for both ceremonies was given by ECC President David Sam.
