South Elgin High cooking up a barbecue fundraiser

South Elgin High School athletic department will hold a 5B's BBQ dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, as a fundraiser.

The cost is $13 for the choice of pork chops or chicken or a combination, all with baked beans, applesauce, coleslaw and roll with butter.

A children's hot dog meal is available for $8.

To order, register on the athletic website at il.8to18.com/sehs/ under registration. Set up an account or use a current one. Click on begin registration and the event, and choose the meals. Meals may be picked up at the back of the school, 760 E. Main St. Patrons are invited to watch the last baseball or softball game that evening.

In addition, South Elgin High School is offering a three-on-three boys' and girls' outdoor basketball tournament from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15. Register online at il.8to18.com/sehs/.

The fee of $20 includes a live DJ, Slam Dunk Contest and games. There will be Kona Ice, concessions and championship T-shirts for all level winners.

This is open for all boys and girls entering fourth through 12th grades.

Information is now available for youth and high school baseball, youth and high school football, boys' and girls' youth and high school volleyball, boys' and girls' youth and high school basketball, boys' and girls' 7th-12th summer running camp, boys' and girls' youth and high school bowling, middle school and high school softball, boys' and girls' high school tennis, youth and high school track and field, and high school wrestling.

Cheer camp is available for only high school cheerleaders on the 2015-16 team.

Registration will be opening soon for a youth cheer clinic, a dance clinic, and a boys' soccer camp.
