Chris Simpson fired a 1-hitter with 12 strikeouts and a walk as the Tigers (12-16, 10-7) stayed two games behind first-place Glenbard North in the DuPage Valley Conference. Austin Polezoes drove in 2 runs while Justin Kelly went 3-for-4.

Naperville Central 7, Naperville North 2:

Ryan Eiermann struck out nine and walked one in a 4-hitter for the Redhawks (15-12, 9-8), who broke open the DuPage Valley Conference win with a 5-run fifth inning. Logan Muckenhirn went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI while Dan Veles drove in 2 runs. Alex Garon had 2 hits for Naperville North (13-14, 10-7).

Waubonsie Valley 3, Metea Valley 1:

Luke Marzano's 2-run double in the fifth inning gave the Warriors (23-5, 18-3) some breathing room in their Upstate Eight Valley victory. Preston Everts got the win with 5 innings of work while Ryan Jones notched the save.

Willowbrook 8, Joliet West 7:

Joliet West took a 7-5 lead in the top of the seventh, but the Warriors (21-8) won the nonconference game with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning. Cam Zunkel singled home 2 runs to win it. John Halloran and Kyle Martyniuk both homered. Matt Garbacz was the winning pitcher in relief.

Wheaton Academy 7, Walther Christian 2:

The Warriors (21-6) improved to 15-1 in the Metro Suburban Conference by scoring 4 runs in the first inning and tacking on 2 runs in the second. Noah Ritchie drove in 2 runs and scored a run. Bryce Sandberg, David McDonell and Adam Marquardt combined on the mound.

Westmont 6, Peotone 1:

Joe Donovan went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Sentinels (25-6, 12-3), who won their eighth straight in the Interstate Eight Conference. Jackson Fischer was the complete-game winning pitcher.
