Candlelight Vigil for those affected by eating disorders

More than 300 people are expected to attend the 12th annual Candlelight Vigil for those affected by eating disorders from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 18, in the Healing Garden of Linden Oaks Behavioral Health on the campus of Edward Hospital at 801 S. Washington St., Naperville.

The observance is sponsored by Linden Oaks and the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders. It's held each year to motivate and encourage recovery, provide support for families, to commemorate those who have lost their lives and recognize those who have recovered and survived.

The theme of this year's vigil is "Unlock Your Freedom."

Stacey Prussman, a standup comedian, will be the keynote speaker for the event, which also will include emotional speeches by recovering or recovered eating disorder patients and family members whose loved ones passed away due to eating disorders; music; and a candle-lighting ceremony.
