Didier Farms owners considering redevelopment of Buffalo Grove area site

A portion of the Didier Farms property near Buffalo Grove could be up for redevelopment.

Buffalo Grove Village Manager Dane Bragg confirmed that the village recently met with representatives of the trust that owns a 50-acre portion of the property along Aptakisic Road concerning the possible redevelopment.

According to village officials, the land in question is on the northern part of the property. It does not include the farm stand, officials said, and is located away from main roads. The farm stand is on the southern part of the property.

Bragg called the discussions very preliminary.

"We haven't seen any development concept," he said.

Jack Mardoian, an attorney for the Didier property owners, said the family is considering its options, one of which could be a sale of the property.

"The family needs to consider what it wants to do," he said.

He also called the meeting with the village very preliminary.

"No specifics were discussed, because there were no specifics to be discussed," he said.

Any development of the site likely would include annexation into Buffalo Grove.

Last year, Buffalo Grove trustees approved the annexation of the nearby Hoffmann property at 22140 N. Prairie Road for a development of 38 houses that would also allow the Hoffmann family to continue to use two lots for the family farm.
