Two housing developments proposed in Palatine

Two housing developments that could bring dozens of new residents to Palatine this year are working their way through the approval process and will be before the village council in the next month.

A 24-unit townhouse development has been proposed for just north of Palatine Road between North Crescent Avenue and North Quentin Road by Lexington Homes.

According to village documents, the development would have five buildings along a new private road that would connect Crescent Avenue to Quentin Road. Each unit would have three levels, including a garage on the ground floor.

A representative from Lexington Homes was not available for comment, but the project will be back before the village council on Monday.

Meanwhile, a 13-lot single-family residential development has been proposed by David Weekley Homes on West Rosiland Drive and West Ruhl Road just south of West Lake-Cook Road and east of North Quentin Road.

Dan Venard, acquisition manager for David Weekley Homes, said they are targeting consumers who either already live in the area and want a new, well-appointed home or other buyers who may be looking to shorten their work commute in a solid school district and move to Palatine.

He said the homes would sell for $600,000 to $800,000.

The David Weekley Homes development will be back before the village council in June.
