Hoffman Estates parolee sentenced to prison for drug possession

A Hoffman Estates man on parole for a 2013 robbery pleaded guilty on Thursday to possession of a controlled substance, court records show.

In exchange for his guilty plea to the class 4 felony, Kenneth Lambert, 22, was sentenced to one year in prison.

Lambert, who received credit for 28 days in custody, was also ordered to pay $704 in fines, court records show.

Schaumburg police stopped Lambert for a traffic violation last month in the vicinity of Dunsford Court and Portland Drive. It was during that traffic stop that officers recovered several Xanax pills, prosecutors said during Lambert's bond hearing last month.
