214@100: R.M.H.S. freshmen rely on their mighty mentors

One of the unique characteristics of Rolling Meadows High School is the many clubs and activities intended to ensure students are involved and successful in high school and beyond. The Mighty Mustang Mentors is geared toward making every student at Rolling Meadows feel as comfortable as possible.

"The purpose of M3 is to help provide a smooth transition from eighth grade into high school," M3 adviser Kelly Tobecksen said. "Mentors offer advice that freshmen might better hear from a fellow student as opposed to an adult."

M3 helps the freshman class from the days of orientation and school tours through the end of finals, offering tips for managing time.

"I believe that it is important for students to know they are cared for and about. The beginning of high school can be difficult for many students. The more quickly they can figure things out, the more likely they will be able to find success," Tobecksen said.
