Mount Prospect holds emergency preparedness training
Those interested in learning more about emergency preparedness can sign up for Mount Prospect's free Citizen Emergency Preparedness Training.
The 20-hour course covers disaster preparedness for hazards that could impact the area and trains people in basic disaster response skills.
The course offers a mixture of classroom and hands-on training. Topics include fire safety and utilities, first aid, light search and rescue, storms and weather, disaster planning and psychology.
The seven-week course begins Wednesday, Oct. 2, and continues each Wednesday until Nov. 13. Classes run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Fire Station 14, 2000 Kensington Road.
