Midwest Sports Academy golf tournament to support youth athletic programs

Support families and youth in need while enjoying an exciting day on the links at the second annual Midwest Sports Academy Golf Tournament.

The outing tees off with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Pinecrest Golf Club in Huntley.

Proceeds from the event will benefit three important causes. Midwest Sports Academy is raising funds to install a new gym floor at the Einstein Academy in Elgin, the home site for its youth basketball programs.

The sports academy also has set a goal to provide 24 Thanksgiving food baskets for needy families after furnishing 12 Thanksgiving baskets from golf tournament proceeds last year. The golf outing will also generate funds for the sports academy to supply more than 500 toys for the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, where financially strapped families stay at little to no cost to be near their hospitalized child.

The entry fee is $90 for individuals and $360 for foursomes. The cost includes green fees, golf carts, driving range and a box lunch.

Sign up as a foursome or individually for the four-player scramble format. Stay afterward for an awards presentation and a raffle featuring prizes donated by area sponsors. Take your best shot at prizes for the top foursome, second- and third-place foursomes, longest putt, longest drive and closest shot to the pin.

Sponsorships offer another opportunity to support disadvantaged kids and families as well as Midwest Sports Academy while promoting your business to key members of the community. Sponsorship choices include corporate ($1,000), hole ($300) and driving range ($200).

Midwest Sports Academy is a nonprofit organization that educates underprivileged youth through athletic programs. To register for the tournament, visit www.msasportsprograms.org, call (847) 809-8978. Email info@midwestsportsacademy.org for more information.
