Algonquin Lions, Buffalo Wild Wings give scholarship to Jacobs senior

The Algonquin Lions Club awarded graduating Jacobs High School senior Trevor Lawson the Lion Ted Spella Education Award for his superior academic and extracurricular achievements.

The $4,000 award was funded by the fifth annual Algonquin Lions-Buffalo Wild Wings Charity Bean Bag Tournament, held last August. These tournaments have raised $25,000 and are supported by 93 area businesses.

Trevor will attend Southern Illinois University in the fall where he will major in zoology.

Barb and John Weiler of Algonquin's Buffalo Wild Wings also presented Trevor with a $1,000 check.

The sixth annual tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 15. Entry forms are available at the Algonquin Buffalo Wild wings location, 461 S. Randall Road.

The Algonquin Lion Ted Spella Education Award was created to honor Ted Spella, a former Lion and former Algonquin village president.
