214@100: Hersey forums go deeper into subject matter

John Hersey High School helped pioneer the concept of collaborative learning across the curriculum, launching its Forum Series to delve deeper into students' studies and help large groups of learners understand the real-world connectivity between subjects such as science and English.

The series, led by teachers and guest speakers, including state and national legislators, has included everything from political debates to lectures on medieval architecture and citizenship, offering unique opportunities that challenge students' intellectual curiosity.

Hersey educators have spoken nationally on their forum concept, and it is now benefiting students across District 214 as part of the overall curriculum.
