Palatine library hosting award-winning student art

Exemplary student art from all across the state will be on display on the Second Floor West and South Gallery Walls at the Palatine Public Library through the rest of the month.

The library will host the Illinois Art Education Association 2014/2015 Student Show, made up of 40 pieces of award-winning art created by students in grades K-12 throughout the state. The pieces were selected from more than 740 entries submitted for this annual touring show.

Two students from Palatine schools are among the state winners: Naruto Tsuji, a student at Lincoln Elementary School, and Juliana LaScola, a Quest Academy student.

The artists used a variety of media including ebony pencil, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, marker, photography, collage, linoleum and embroidery thread.

The library will also be displaying works of art from Winston Campus Elementary School and Winston Junior High School in their first-floor display case.
