Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois names new board

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois selected new and continuing members for its board of directors during the organization's recent annual meeting.

Aurora resident Scott F. McCleary, assistant regional counsel for the U.S. General Services Administration in Chicago, was elected as board chair.

Batavia resident Bobbie Riley, vice president at Pharmacy Compliance and Government Affairs for New Albertson's Inc., was elected as first vice-chair.

Mark M. Ackerman of Pecatonica, Ill., telecommunications administrator at Woodward Inc., was elected as second vice-chair.

Christin Giedd of Dixon, Ill., human resource manager for Schneider Electric, was elected as secretary.

Robert Quimby of Rockton, Ill., partner in the public accounting firm of Quimby & Co., P.C., was elected as treasurer.

The Directors-at-Large are: Annette Acevedo (Elgin), coordinator of English Language Learners Initiative in Elgin Area School District U-46; Amanda Hamaker (Rockford), governing board member and founding treasurer for Alignment Rockford; Carol Dickerson (Freeport), Freeport Public Library director; Judy Dunne (Elgin), mentor for the Transitions Academy program at Elgin Community College and deputy registrar for the Kane County Clerk's Office; Melissa Leuzinger (Loves Park), business loan officer for Cornerstone Credit Union; William Reilly (Belvidere), attorney/owner of Reilly Law Offices; Jean Marie Saidler (Crystal Lake), founder/owner of JMS Consultation Inc.; Patricia Turner (Elgin), PHO Director/Managed Care Field Operations, Advocate Health Care; Vicky Kohlbacher (Rockford), reading tutor for Rockford public schools;

Cheryl Maraffio (Aurora), co-founder of Victim Services Unit; Archie Needam (Aurora), retired West Aurora High School counselor; and Lois Wollney (Barrington), certified financial planner at Morgan Stanley.

The board appointed associate directors are: South Elgin teen Emily Bettler, junior at St. Charles North High School; Rockford Luthern High freshman Lauren Platt; and South Elgin teen Kacie Zakin, freshman at St. Charles North High School.

Board development committee members are: Lois Wollney (Barrington), certified financial planner at Morgan Stanley; Donna Bausman (Mount Carroll), instructor for the TechGYRLS after-school tech program for girls; Sheryl Y. Head (Rockford), affiliations include Rockford College, Rockford Women's Club, and Health Care Compliance Association; Vicky Kohlbacher (Rockford), Reading Tutor for Rockford Public Schools; and Archie Needam (Aurora), retired West Aurora High School counselor.
