Windett Ridge showcase design in model homes

Windett Ridge showcases two model homes with exciting interiors in this picturesque community of single-family homes on oversized lots in Yorkville.

Situated within the highly acclaimed Yorkville school district and within walking distance of the middle school, this Ryland Homes community features neighborhood parks and bike paths within the neighborhood.

Homebuyers can select from 10, two-story floor plans with three to four bedrooms, two to four baths and two- and three-car garages. The broad range of home sizes and prices make this community attractive to many homebuyers.

"In addition to all the great benefits of living in Windett Ridge, the city of Yorkville offers its BUILD Program through June 30 that will save new homebuyers $5,000," said John Carroll, Chicago Division president of Ryland Homes.

Yorkville's small-town feel is paired with big-city conveniences, with a variety of shopping and dining options along with commuter-friendly access to I-88 and I-55.

The Victoria and McKinley floor plans, featuring interior designs by Eleni Interiors Inc. of Naperville, are Windett Ridge's furnished and decorated model homes.

The Victoria, base priced from $188,990, features 2,282 square feet of space, four bedrooms, 2½ baths and a two-car garage.

The stunning two-story foyer welcomes you into its warm interior where the formal living and dining rooms show a traditional crown molding painted black, while other trim is white. The dining room shows another black molding along the perimeter.

In the kitchen, dark wood cabinetry and flooring contrast with lighter countertops while stainless steel appliances add sparkle.

The family room features two sofas arranged around the fireplace and lots of windows. For privacy, the first-floor study is tucked away off the rear entry.

The master suite boasts a deep tray ceiling, panel draperies, a reading area, walk-in closet and private bath.

In the Barbie-themed girl's bedroom, part of the wall and ceiling is painted pink, and circle decals decorate part of the wall and ceiling. A boy's room features a fun look with a wall mural of a beach along with a dune buggy bed.

The McKinley, base priced from $229,990, features 3,146 square feet, four bedrooms plus a loft, 2½ baths and a three-car garage.

This home features the "collected" trend with some Restoration Hardware-look accent pieces.

The living room shows a panel molding wall treatment and two sofas while panel draperies dress the windows. In the dining room, which has a bay window, a light green painted buffet pairs with a wood dining table.

The kitchen features white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and a large island with breakfast bar. Cabinetry extends into the breakfast area where a wood dining table mixes with chairs painted robin-egg blue.

For a dramatic look, the family room features a fireplace against a blue wall with windows on either side. A large sectional is topped with an array of colorful pillows, while the cocktail table shows an industrial look.

A desk and open bookshelves furnish the den.

Upstairs, the loft offers another spot to relax before bedtime.

The master suite with tray ceiling shows some painted pieces that add a lot of interest, two walk-in closets and a private bath.

Secondary bedrooms feature a boy's room with an updated take on the bunk bed with a bed up top and desk space below. A girl's room with hot pink walls and teal bed cover features a ceiling design and band of paint. A fourth bedroom shows a day bed with a sports theme.

Design is trending toward cleaner and simpler. Draperies and rugs have lots of texture and fewer patterns, says Jane Wlezien, design manager with Eleni Interiors in Naperville, who worked on the McKinley model at Windett Ridge in Yorkville. Courtesy of Ryland Homes
