View Deerfield Park District art students' works

Paintings by the Deerfield Park District adult art students are displayed on the Art Wall at the Patty Turner Center during the month of May.

Art teacher Elaine Silberman, who has taught in the district for 47 years and served as the preschool director for 28 of those years, is proud of her art students' works.

"I was asked to teach art as part of the curriculum back in the day," Elaine said. "I had so many students then and still have many students now. For so many years, it has been a wonderful experience."

Exhibiting artists include Melaine Baker, Bob Brown, Rai Copeland-Keefe, Jennifer Dubinsky, Theresa Flori, Olya Glantsman, Karen Grage, Sandra Levi, Hillary Meyers, Soojeen Park, Amy Silverman, Helen Simon, Marlene Sowa, Susan Tappert and Brenda Vuckovich.

Patty Turner Center is at 375 Elm St., in Deerfield. For directions or days and hours, call (847) 940-4010.
