Cougars get swept by River Bandits

The Quad Cities River Bandits (21-6) completed a three-game sweep over the Kane County Cougars with a 4-1 win at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva on Wednesday afternoon. The River Bandits (21-6), who lead the Midwest League, captured up their eighth straight victory.

The Cougars (11-16), who were shut out Tuesday, scored their run in the bottom of the eighth on a bases-loaded wild pitch.

Losing pitcher Jared Miller (2-2) worked 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk.

The Cougars hit the road for a three-game series starting today at 6;30 p.m. against the Clinton LumberKings, sending out Ethan Elias (3-0, 0.00 ERA) against Tyler Herb.
