Rachel Rich had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Sarah Schmitz added 2 hits Wednesday to lead Westminster Christian to a 6-4 win over Luther North in Northeastern Athletic Conference softball action.
Rebecca Fugiel added a double and an RBI for the Warriors (9-5, 3-2) while Jackie Calabrese also drove in a run.
Kristen Mason was the winning pitcher, allowing 6 hits with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks.
CL South 9, Johnsburg 0: Carly Chovanec was 3-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI and Sam Burgard and Hannah Koenig combined on a 2-hitter to lead the Gators (14-7) to a nonconference win. Brook Maddox (3-for-4, 2 RBI), Kim Woods (2B, 2 RBI) and Jenica Terry each drove in runs for Crystal Lake South as did Burgard and Koenig. Taylor Kassel also went 3-for-4 for the Gators.
CL Central 7, Dundee-Crown 4: Andrea Conway was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI and Deanna Origer drove in 2 runs for Dundee-Crown (11-7) in this Fox Valley Conference crossover loss. Claire Weeks added a triple for the Chargers and Sydney Ruggles suffered the loss.
Geneva 10, Elgin 0: Jessica Rago and Paige Walker had Elgin's only hits in this Upstate Eight River loss. Rago was the losing pitcher for the Maroons (3-21).
Streamwood 9, Batavia 7: Winning pitcher Jessica Daley had 2 doubles and Natalie Fillipio and Rebecca Daley each added a double as the Sabres (7-15, 4-10) prevailed in the UEC River.
St. Charles East 10, Larkin 0: Bella Aquinaga had the only hit for Larkin (4-18, 3-11) in this UEC River loss. Emily Rojo was the losing pitcher.
