Carmody central to Lake Zurich's victory

Matt Carmody couldn't be stopped at the net, as Lake Zurich's boys volleyball team pulled out a 24-26, 25-21, 25-16 win over visiting Lakes in North Suburban Conference play Wednesday night.

Carmody finished with 13 kills, while also serving 3 aces.

Nick Meyer and Nate Amos had 8 and 6 kills, respectively, for Lake Zurich (11-14, 4-4). Jeff Carmody dished out 32 assists for the Bears. Meyer delivered 3 aces, while Amos and Andrew Gilbertson each had a pair.

Stevenson d. Warren: Grant Maleski slammed 8 kills for the Patriots in their 27-25, 25-21 win in a North Suburban match.

Stevenson (16-10, 5-2) also received 6 kills and 2 aces from Jesse Kesner.

Libertyville d. North Chicago: Konnor McCormack pounded 9 kills and Chris Akers added seven, as the Wildcats won 25-23, 25-14 in North Suburban action.

Pete Feely had 3 kills and 2 blocks, and Zac Hauser contributed 3 blocks and 2 kills for the Wildcats. Libertyville (15-11) also received 12 assists, 7 digs and 1 ace from Kyle Winiger, 12 digs from Elliot Cote and 4 kills from Nick Zoellick.
