Stanton School's Theater Club presents 'Rip Van Winkle'

Beginning with a heartfelt discussion about the subject matter and central message of Washington Irving's work, Stanton School's Theater Club took on the many responsibilities necessary to produce "Rip Van Winkle."

The students had the opportunity to both perform and fulfill the technical aspects essential to producing a play. The group of 25 took on roles as promoters, designers, builders, run crew and actors, and with just 36 hours of rehearsals brought this story to life.

Stanton's Theater Club is directed by Joseph Fernandez and performs two productions each year.

"It was a distinct pleasure guiding this group as they succeeded in every aspect of theater production, from promotion to performance," Fernandez said.

"Their commitment and ingenuity brought the story of 'Rip Van Winkle' to life for the audiences and brought a great sense of pride to their new found family of artists. The students are eager to share another production come fall."
