No injuries in Route 47 crash involving school bus
No one was injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Huntley involving two passenger cars and a Huntley Unit District 158 school bus.
The crash occurred around 7:27 a.m. on southbound Route 47 north of Main Street, Huntley police said.
The school bus was stopped north of the railroad tracks along southbound Route 47 and was struck from behind by a 2003 Honda that was pushed partially under the bus by a 1997 Oldsmobile, police said.
Only the driver and one 18-year-old student were in the bus. The Honda and Oldsmobile were each occupied by a driver and two passengers.
Huntley Fire Protection District paramedics checked out everyone involved.
The driver of the 1997 Oldsmobile, Mackenzie Macdonald, 30, of Huntley, was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said.
District 158 officials were notified of the accident and the parents of the 18-year-old picked up the student from the crash site. The 2003 Honda was towed while the other two vehicles were driven from the scene. All lanes were reopened by 8 a.m.
