Join Fox Country Players' Theatre Arts Academy this summer

Are you looking for something creative and fun to do this summer? Then, get in the act at Fox Country Players' Theatre Arts Academy! Dive into "Under the Sea" or "Disney's Little Mermaid, Jr."!

• "Under the Sea" is open to students entering first to eighth grade. The academy begins on Monday, July 6. It meets Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon for two weeks. There will be three final performances at 7 p.m. Friday, July 17, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, July 18.

Students will star in their own story as they sing, dance, and act their way through two weeks of performing arts fun! Give your aspiring performer the opportunity to make new friends, gain confidence and improve their stage presence in a low pressure, positive and fun environment!

• "Disney's Little Mermaid, Jr." is open to high school students and graduating seniors. The academy begins on Monday, July 6. It meets Monday to Friday for three weeks. From July 6-17, the academy meets from 1 to 4 p.m. and meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20-24.

There will be three final performances at 7 p.m. Friday, July 24, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, July 25.

Don't let the term "Jr." in the title fool you. "Disney's Little Mermaid, Jr." will give performers at all levels the opportunity to shine. Your Rising Star will gain practical, performing arts experience under the guidance of our talented staff.

In addition to preparing for their final shows, students will have the opportunity to engage in exciting workshops and try their hand at every aspect of production from paint to publicity.

This summer's staff includes: Mark Wayne, Blair Wright, Meg McGarry, Matt Weaver, Devin Johnston, Anya Malley, John Pletka, Laura Allen, Jen Whittington, Doug Earnest, and Nan Grommes; and college interns Rachel Eaton, Christian Lovetere and Meredith Olson.

All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Yorkville Congregational Church, 409 Center Parkway, Yorkville.

Two Lenora Wissmiller Memorial Scholarships are available for high school students and applications can be found on the website. Advertising opportunities are also available.
