Naperville Central rallies to defeat Lake Park

Naperville Central 6, Lake Park 5:

The Redhawks (10-11, 4-7) trailed 2-0 before scoring all their runs in the final four innings of the DuPage Valley Conference matchup. Connor Gurnik and Billy Oliver each had 2 RBI. Glenn Kozlowski notched the win and Zac Bianucci the save. Colin Fowich went 3-for-4 with 2 homers and 3 RBI for Lake Park (8-11, 3-8).

Addison Trail 2, Morton 1:

Sophomore Nick Villasenor scattered 7 hits, struck out seven and walked none in a complete-game West Suburban Gold victory for the Blazers (7-16, 5-9). Robert Baughman went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Benet 3-3, Notre Dame 0-5:

The Redwings (12-10, 4-6) managed a split of the East Suburban Catholic Conference doubleheader behind a shutout in the opener from Mike Powers, who struck out six in a 6-hitter. Lee Barnes went 3-for-3 while Jon Kruppe and Josh Tumpane drove in runs.

Naperville North 11, Wheaton North 1:

Alex Garon, Christian Barczi, Paul Dobravec and Sam Siebers all had 2 hits for the Huskies (10-11, 7-4) in the DuPage Valley Conference victory. Luke Brennan pitched into the seventh inning to earn the win.

Downers South 11, Hinsdale South 4:

Ben Ficht went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI to help keep the Mustangs (17-3, 11-0) unbeaten in the West Suburban Gold. Joey Engel, Corey Vondra and Danny Oriente also had 2 hits. Peter Hamot was the winning pitcher.

Timothy Christian 9, Fenton 3:

The Trojans (8-10, 6-7) scored at least twice in each of the final four innings while pulling away to the Metro Suburban Conference win. Josh Anderson, who drove in 2 runs, Devin May and Jimmy Brush all had 2 hits. Jimmy Allen went the distance to earn the win. David Alden had 2 RBI for Fenton (11-8, 5-5).

Glenbard South 9, Oswego East 7:

The Raiders (15-5) trailed 7-3 but rallied with 6 runs over the final three innings. Joey Atkinson homered while Andrew Wrona and Kyle Carli each went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI. Alex McGimpsey was the winning pitcher in relief.

Waubonsie Valley 7, Geneva 6:

After scoring all their runs in the second inning of the Upstate Eight Conference game, the Warriors (17-3, 12-1) held on for their ninth straight victory. Quinton Zielke went 3-for-4 while Luke Marzano and Brandon Petersen each had 2 hits. Jacob Hennessy notched the win and Petersen the save.

York 18, Glenbard West 4:

Kyle Coughlin and Brian Peterson went 3-for-6 with a homer and 4 RBI for the Dukes (9-14, 6-5), who scored 8 runs in the seventh inning of the West Suburban Silver win. Sam Craggs added 3 hits and 3 RBI in support of winning pitcher Joe Polowsky. Will Simoneit and Arno Curtis homered for Glenbard West (11-11, 4-7).

St. Francis 9, Wheaton Academy 2:

A 7-run second inning powered the Spartans (13-7) to victory. Mike Beach, Jason Sullivan and Brett Whelton, who had 4 RBI, all homered. Colin Wisted was the winning pitcher. R.W. Rienow went 4-for-4 with 2 runs scored for Wheaton Academy (15-6).
