Burlington Central 5, Belvidere North 1: The Rockets' 9 hits were all singles in this nonconference win. Tanner Smith, Logan Orals, John Murphy and Jake Johnson each collected 2 hits for BC, which got a complete game 3-hitter from Kyle Creadon, who struck out 5 and walked 2.

Burlington Central 5, Palatine 2: After taking a short break, the Rockets traveled to Trout Park in Elgin and notched a nonconference win over a Class 4A opponent as Max Judnic, Ryan Anderson and Drew Wiss all had doubles. Anderson, Wiss, Avery Moore, John Murphy and Jake Johnson drove in runs for BC (19-6). Brendan Bushy went 4 innings to earn the win on the mound, allowing just 2 hits with 4 strikeouts and 4 walks.

Westmont 9, Westminster Christian 5: Ian Merlak (RBI) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run and Frank Anguilo doubled, but it wasn't enough for the Warriors in nonconference action against Westmont (19-6). Anguilo took the loss after allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 6 in 4 innings for Westminster Christian (13-11).

Batavia 5, South Elgin 4: The Storm couldn't hold a 4-1 lead and dropped their fourth straight when the Bulldogs scored in the bottom of the seventh to win this Upstate Eight crossover. It was the 10th win in 13 games for Batavia (11-10, 10-3), which opened the season 1-7. Dane Toppel went 3-for-4, Nick Menken doubled, Mitch Butvilas doubled and drove in a run, and Joey Roberson took the loss in relief for South Elgin (11-6, 8-6).

Glenbard East 19, Streamwood 3 (6 inn.): Jose Aguilar tripled and Hayden Holota and Zach Campbell singled, but those were the only hits for the Sabres in this Upstate Eight crossover. The Rams scored 5 runs in the fifth and 10 in the sixth to blow open what had been a close game. Adam Sojda took the loss for Streamwood (4-16, 3-11). He allowed 7 earned runs on 10 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4 in 4 innings.

Elgin Academy splits: Henry Stone had a double and a triple while Ian Wilson and Karl Rauschenberger each added triples as the Hilltoppers won the second game of a nonconference doubleheader with IC Catholic Prep to earn a split for the day. ICCP won the opener 3-2. Gannon Cottone picked up the win on the mound for Elgin Academy (6-9) in Game 2. In the opener, Cottone and Andrew Wilson each had doubles for EA and Jonathan Cruz was the tough-luck loser, allowing just 4 hits with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in a complete game effort.
