Warren, Round Lake earn nonconference victories

In the Glenbrook Cup, Warren's girls soccer team rolled over University High 7-0 on Friday.

The Blue Devils led 4-0 by halftime. Valentina Rodriguez scored 3 goals and Abby Vrabel had 2 assists for the Blue Devils (6-6-2). Goalie Liz Carrano had 1 save.

Round Lake 4, Cristo St. Martin 0: Michelle Hernandez scored 2 goals and Jasmine Cruz had a goal and an assist to lead Round Lake to the shutout win.

Huntley 4, Grayslake Central 0: The Rams were down 3-0 at halftime.

Grayslake Central 3, Grayslake North 1: On Thursday, the Rams erased a 1-0 halftime deficit in the Fox Valley Fox Division game to hand the Knights their first loss of the season.

Quin Garbett had 2 goals for Grayslake Central (10-6, 2-1). Joslynn Smith also scored, while Karleen Gomez and Jordyn Gosell added assists. Rams keeper Payton Gosell made 5 saves.

"I'm so proud of the girls' effort tonight," Grayslake Central coach Bethany Russ said. "We are finally starting to understand roles and responsibilities of each player and are coming together better than ever as a group. From the time we stepped on the field, the girls were ready to play and worked hard for one another for the full 80 minutes."

Grayslake North (15-1-2, 3-1) got its lone goal from Sammie Villwock on a penalty kick.

Stevenson 3, Mundelein 0: On Thursday, Emma Marx earned the shutout for the Patriots with 4 saves in North Suburban Lake action.

A goal by Savannah Kruse had Stevenson Stevenson (7-5-1, 2-2-1) up 1-0 at halftime. Kruse and Rachel Takaroff scored in the second half. Jill Steinbrink, Courtney Bruckman and Caroline Dempsey contributed assists.

Mundelein fell to 6-6-3 and 1-2-2 in the NSC Lake.

Warren 3, Libertyville 1: On Thursday, Alliyah Parker scored twice and Teagon Albert also had a goal, as the Blue Devils built a 3-0 by halftime of the North Suburban Lake Division match.

Grace Wiltgen and Alexis Strothers had assists for Warren (5-6-2, 3-1-2), while Liz Carrano had 4 saves in net.

Libertyville fell to 9-4 and 2-3 in the NSC Lake.
