Medical marijuana facility close to approval in Rolling Meadows

Nature's Care, a medical marijuana dispensary that has been licensed by the state, but denied in Palatine, is one step closer to opening in Rolling Meadows instead.

The Rolling Meadows City Council this week approved an ordinance for special use for Nature's Care, 975 Rohlwing Road, on first reading.

The measure was approved unanimously and without discussion. The Rolling Meadows City Council had previously approved a special use permit for a different medical marijuana dispensary to open in the same location, but that business was not chosen by the state to be the dispensary for the area.

Nature's Care will be back in front of Rolling Meadows aldermen for final approval in May and company officials said they hope to be open to patients in September or October.
