Centegra auxiliary offers nursing scholarships

The Centegra Health System Auxiliary invites individuals who have been accepted into nursing programs to apply for the Audrey Ballard Nursing Scholarship. The $3,000 scholarship provides financial assistance to nursing students for the 2015-2016 academic year.

"We are pleased to offer this opportunity to the future nurses of our community," said Frances Glosson, director of Centegra Health System Auxiliary. "We know financial support assists the attainment of a nursing health care degree and we encourage those interested to pursue this scholarship."

In addition to being accepted to an accredited nursing program, applicants also must be high school graduates. The scholarship recipient must present the accredited nursing program's acceptance letter as part of the application process. Students having less than one academic year remaining until graduation are not eligible for consideration. Proof of a grade-point average of a "C" or better is required. Interested applicants can download the application at centegra.org/hospital-auxiliaries. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, May 29.

For questions, call the auxiliary office at (847) 802-7085 or email your application to pherbst@centegra.com. The selection of a scholarship recipient will be made by July 1. Only the scholarship recipient will be notified.

This scholarship was made possible by the generosity of Audrey Ballard, a Woodstock native who worked at Memorial Hospital, Centegra Hospital-Woodstock, until she retired in 1984 after 48 years of nursing.
